Mrs. A has been residing in a nursing home for the past 2 years. She suffers from diabetes, hypertension, ostearthritis and osteoporosis. She needs limited assistance with her ADLs but ambulates around the facility with her wheeled walker. Her daughter comes daily to visit her 85 year old mother. On a winter morning, Mrs. A was walking to the main dining room for breakfast when she fell in the hallway. After a thorough assessment, Mrs. A was sent to the local emergency room. Mrs. A left the facility crying from pain. Upon arrival to the ER, the physician on duty tried to interview Mrs. A but she was unable to give details about her medical history. The nursing home continuity did not give many details other than the recent fall.
