The Medicare Inpatient Rehabilitation Facility Patient Assessment Instrument (IRF-PAI) is used for medicare patients in inpatient rehabilitation facilities (IRF). It has two purposes: to monitor quality of care and to determine reimbursement for rehabilitation services.
